The Kentucky State Fair, August 15-25, announces special promotional days with discounts

The Kentucky State Fair has announced that the special promotional days that visitors know and love will be back. The fair will run from August 15-25 and will feature a variety of discounts, including Military Sunday, $5 Monday and Sensory Awareness Day.

Some discounts will apply to specific individuals, while days like $5 Monday will offer every visitor the opportunity to attend the fair at a discounted rate.

The special promotional days are as follows:

• Thursday August 15: Departmental fairs day

Come join us, come to all 120 counties in Kentucky. We will highlight county contest winners, feature unique contests, unveil a new exhibit celebrating all 120 counties, and host special activities.

• Sunday August 18: Military Sunday

Active duty military and veterans, as well as their families, can attend the fair for free. A military ID is required. Free tickets are limited to four and parking is not included. Thrill Ville wristbands will be 20% off and will be available onsite. There is a limit of four wristbands per valid military ID.

• Monday August 19: $5 Monday

Those looking for a bargain won’t want to miss this day. Admission is $5 per person and includes parking. While the cattle change is taking place on the west side of the property, fairgoers can tour Discovery Farm in Agland and also catch the morning or evening performances of the World’s Championship Horse Show for free. Free evening tickets will be available at the KEC box office.

• Tuesday August 20: Seniors Day

Admission to the fair is free for those 55 and older. Parking is not included. Special activities will be planned throughout the day.

• Wednesday August 21: Sensory awareness day

In partnership with Kissel Entertainment, FEAT of Louisville, Home of the Innocents and Kentucky Autism Training Center, free admission and tickets to Thrill Ville will be offered to fairgoers with sensory processing differences. From 10 a.m. to noon, Thrill Ville will operate with minimal lights and music to create a fun fair experience for those with sensory sensitivities. Tickets are limited. Starting July 6, online ticket prices will be $9. Online prices will increase to $10 on August 3.

Thrill Ville Unlimited Attraction Wristbands are also available now and can be added to fairgoers’ online ticket orders for the lowest price of $30 per wristband,
