Officers arrest teen for multiple gun, drug offenses after traffic stop in Camden, Wyoming – Delaware State Police

Delaware State Police arrested a 17 year old boy a Dover, Delaware man on multiple gun and drug charges following a traffic stop in Camden, Wyoming, Friday morning.

On June 28, 2024, at approximately 9:51 a.m., a patrol officer observed the driver of a black 2007 Lincoln Navigator not wearing a seat belt while traveling on South State Street in the area of ​​Troop 3. The officer conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the 17-year-old driver of the Lincoln, who did not have a valid driver’s license. During the traffic stop, a search of the driver’s person resulted in the discovery of approximately 1 gram of marijuana wax. Subsequently, a probable cause search of the Lincoln resulted in the discovery of a loaded Derringer pistol and several .25 caliber rounds of ammunition. The driver was taken into custody without incident. A computer check showed the firearm had been reported stolen out of Ohio.

The 17-year-old was taken to Troop 3, where he was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned in Peace Court 7 and booked into the Vision Quest Detention Center on $16,202 secured bail.
