Coroner releases name of other driver killed in fiery crash in September

CADDO PARISH, La. (KSLA) – The Caddo coroner’s office released Thursday (Nov. 7) the name of the other driver killed in a fiery crash early September 27 on US Highway 71 in northern Caddo Parish.

He is 34-year-old Tristan McDay, from Sibley.

McDay was killed when his vehicle collided head-on with another vehicle and caught fire just before 7 a.m. that date in the 13800 block of US Highway 71, just south of the Interstate 49 interchange.

Caddo sheriff’s deputies said a small sedan was traveling north on a highway. 71 when it crossed the center line and struck another vehicle traveling in the opposite direction.

McDay’s identity was confirmed by forensic DNA testing by the North Louisiana Crime Laboratory.

Gavin Green, 31, of Willow Lane, Hosston, was also killed in the wreck.
