“The Heirs” Actress Kim Mi Kyung Shares Heartfelt Message of Grief and Gratitude Following Her Mother’s Passing

Actress Kim Mi Kyung, known for her portrayals of mother figures in popular dramas like “The Heir’s” and “Welcome to Samdal-ri,” is grappling with grief following the recent loss of her mother. In a touching message shared with her followers, Kim expressed her deep sadness while expressing gratitude for the outpouring of compassion she has received during this difficult time.

“I said goodbye to my mother. It’s like a mountain has collapsed and my hometown has disappeared, but I believe my mother has gone to a better place, so I won’t cling to her but will say hello,” reads an English translation of Kim’s note, which sums up the enormity of her loss and her faith in her mother’s peaceful journey.




Acknowledging the overwhelming support she has received, Kim bowed her head in sincere appreciation to those who have given her comfort and strength. She said, “To all those who have given me comfort and strength, to those who have rushed to hold my hand and hug me, I sincerely bow in gratitude. I will not forget your kindness.” In return, Kim offered her support to anyone facing adversity: “If you ever have a tough day, call me. I will come running.”

Kim Mi Kyung’s mother passed away earlier this week on July 3, and her funeral was held in a solemn ceremony on July 5 at the Seoul City Cemetery in Donghwa Kyungmo Park.
