Ahead of the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympic Games, young athletes of Leap Gymnastics, an initiative of JSW Group dedicated to advancing sports development in India, were delighted with the visit of Indian gymnast Dipa Karmakar on Friday.

Karmakar, a prominent figure in Indian gymnastics, who secured a remarkable 4th place in the vault event at the 2016 Rio Olympics, visited the facility and inspired the youth to follow in his footsteps.

Tanvi Jindal, Founder, Leap Gymnastics, said, “Dipa Karmakar’s journey and achievements highlight the potential of India in gymnastics. Her success story reinforces our commitment to nurture and develop world-class gymnasts. Leap Gymnastics is committed to providing the highest level of training and facilities to our athletes and creating an environment conducive to their growth.”

Dipa Karmakar expressed her gratitude, “I thank Leap Gymnastics and JSW Group for inviting me to visit this facility. Their dedication towards the growth of gymnastics and Olympic sports in India is truly inspiring and makes me proud. I believe that with such initiatives, we can nurture and develop the next generation of gymnasts who will shine on the world stage.”

Since its inception, Leap Gymnastics has trained over 1,000 gymnasts in Mumbai. The initiative aims to train and develop over 10,000 gymnasts across the country in the next five years through the creation of world-class gymnastics centres, progressive training programmes and a structured pathway for elite athletes.
