Hamas command room discovered in Gaza City school and clinic

Israeli troops operating in the Shejaiya neighborhood of Gaza City uncovered a Hamas command room based in a school and a health clinic, the Israeli military said on Monday.

The Israeli military said Hamas terrorists had “converted (the sites) from civilian use to terrorist purposes.”

“In this compound, terrorists from the Shejaiya Battalion (of Hamas) took refuge and carried out terrorist activities,” the army said.

Troops from the Givati Brigade’s Rotem Battalion located a weapons manufacturing plant and dozens of weapons during a raid on the site, including mortars, machine guns and grenades.

The Israeli military reported that troops also found intelligence documents belonging to Hamas hidden among uniforms and equipment belonging to UNRWA.
