People Are Shocked After Seeing The Prices Kratos (God of War) Actor Christopher Judge Charged His Fans At A Convention

A voice actor has left fans stunned after appearing to charge hundreds of dollars for simple tasks at a convention.

Christopher Judge is best known for being the second actor to portray Kratos in the video game series – lending his voice to the character in 2018. God of the war and its 2022 sequel, God of War Ragnarok.

Last year he won the British Academy of Video Games Award for Best Performer in a Leading Role for his portrayal of Kratos in God of War Ragnarök.

If you don’t know him from the action-adventure game franchise, you might recognize Judge from playing Teal’c in the military sci-fi television series. SG-1 Stargate.

However, the 59-year-old was recently criticised for “catching fans off guard” with his prizes at Collect-A-Con in Dallas, Texas.

One fan took to Reddit to say, “Just wanted to share Christopher Judge’s prices for autographs, selfies, etc. I just got back from a collect-a-con and was a little surprised by the prices (it was also my first time meeting a celebrity at a con).

“So I wanted to share this to make sure everyone knows what to expect pricing wise! He was super nice and relaxed (a little late but okay) and I think it was worth it!”

“I had him sign the cover of my gowr (God of War Ragnarok) game, inside. If this isn’t clear, let me know! Also, I don’t know if these are his set prices for every convention or fan meeting, but these were his prices this time around.”

Based on the image attached to the post, fans would have to shell out $70 for an autograph, but $40 for a selfie — and as part of a huge combo deal, those with deep enough pockets could pay $100 for both.

Those who want their Funko Pop! signed will have to shell out $90, probably because they’re a bit difficult to write on.

A Funko Pop! combo costs $120 — though we don’t know what that includes, maybe a selfie of the judge with the figure.

If you want your idol to say one of the game’s iconic quotes, you’ll have to pay an additional $30, while a 30-second voice recording costs $250.

Finally, the best of the best, for the modest sum of $500, the judge will call or FaceTime the person of your choice.

If you wanted to take full advantage of all the deals available, you would have had to shell out $1,000.

And it seems many fans weren’t impressed with the prices.

One person commented: “I hate to say it, but it’s just not worth it in my opinion (in my opinion).”

Another responded in part: “I understand trying to stop hoarders who show up with 15 items to resell. But punishing fans by charging them $75 for ink on a piece of paper or a toy is insane.”

Someone else added: “$40 for a selfie and it’s not even professionally taken? Just a phone selfie? This is absolute insane. Don’t they get paid to go to these shows or something? (I really don’t know how they work).”

And one user thought: “I don’t mind him charging, everyone has to make a living, but I find it really funny that an autograph on a Funko Pop costs $20 more than a standard autograph.”

However, others defended Judge, with one fan writing: “He knows his worth. This guy is a fucking legend now. He more than earned it.”

While another added: “Why are you all mad at him? I charge him for my time. It’s work for him. He should charge for his time too.”
