We will see a good spread of showers and storms on Friday afternoon; the chance of rain is 40%. Temperatures will reach the upper 70s to low 80s, and if we see enough sunshine we could reach the mid 80s.

A cold front will approach our area from the west on Saturday, which will bring a better spread of showers and thunderstorms to SWLA. If you have outdoor plans, it’s a good idea to at least have an indoor alternative, but don’t cancel those outdoor plans either. Because it is not certain that it will rain all day, as rain is likely to be more widespread in nature. Rain is also possible at any time of the day, including the morning hours. The front will likely remain over SWLA and where the front will determine where it rains and where it doesn’t. Temperatures will be slightly cooler thanks to clouds and rain, with lows in the upper 60s and highs in the upper 70s to low 80s.

There will be less rain on Sunday as the front turns east and pushes the rain away. For now, weather forecasts call for a 20% chance of rain, in case there is still a lingering shower. Otherwise, temperatures will still be warm, with lows in the upper 60s and highs in the low 80s.

The weather on Monday and Tuesday looks quite good, but still warmer than normal for this time of year. Lows will reach the upper 50s to low 60s, while highs will reach the low 80s.

The next cold front will approach our area by the middle of next week and it should arrive on Thursday. This could bring some showers, although rain doesn’t seem very likely at the moment.

Temperatures will be noticeably cooler behind this front, with lows in the 40s and 50s by the end of the week! Afternoon highs will also be closer to normal, with most areas only reaching the mid 70s.

Hurricane Rafael is unlikely to impact SWLA as its route is well south of Louisiana.
