Jobe Bellingham gets England U21 call-up ahead of Lee Carsley’s return | Football | Sport

Jobe Bellingham, the Sunderland midfielder and younger brother of England star Jude, has been selected for his first England Under-21 squad for matches against Spain and the Netherlands.

His call-up is a reward for his contribution in taking the Black Cats to the top of the Sky Bet Championship table.

Bellingham, 19, has represented England in every age category from under-16s to under-20s.

Another new face in the 24-man squad is 18-year-old Southampton midfielder Tyler Dibling, who impressed with his Premier League performances this season.

Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite returns to under-21 level after being left out of the squad.

The England team will head to Cadiz on November 15 to play Spain before playing the Netherlands in Almere on November 18.

England have already secured their place in the European Championship finals next summer and will play their final matches under interim head coach Ben Futcher before Lee Carsley takes over the role again.

Carsley returns as interim manager for the England senior team, which will be managed by Thomas Tuchel from January.
