STARKVILLE – As the 2024 football season quickly approaches, head coach James Armstrong announced the schedule for the 2024 Mississippi State football campaign. The schedule includes 11 home games at Mississippi State’s football home field.

The Bulldogs are coming off the most successful season in program history, where they finished the 2023 season in the Sweet 16 and were ranked as the consensus No. 14 team in the country by United Soccer Coaches and Top Drawer Soccer. MSU’s 2024 schedule features plenty of exciting matchups, promising formidable battles for fans and players to mark on their calendars.


State will begin its journey through the 2024 season with a pair of exhibition games where they will take the field for the first time on Aug. 3 against Kennesaw State at 4 p.m. Bulldogs fans can welcome State back to the MSU football field for the first time in 2024 when they take on Louisiana-Monroe for a final preseason game on Aug. 9 at 6:30 p.m.

August 3: at Kennesaw State – Kennesaw, Georgia.
August 9: vs Louisiana-Monroe – Starkville


Regular season opener at home

August 15: vs. Baylor – Starkville

State will kick off its regular season at home with a highly anticipated SEC-BIG 12 matchup under the lights when they host Baylor in Starkville on August 15 at 6:30 p.m.

From there, the state’s non-conference schedule includes home games against Northwestern State, Tennessee Tech, South Alabama and Abilene Christian. The Bulldogs will travel to face UNC Charlotte, Wake Forest and Louisiana Tech during non-conference play.

Play Conference
The Bulldogs will play 10 conference games this season, including five home and five away games. The Dawgs will open SEC play on the road against Oklahoma for the first time in school history on Sept. 19. In addition to the trip to Norman, the Bulldogs will travel to face South Carolina, Georgia, Ole Miss (for the Magnolia Cup) and Texas A&M.

The MSU football field will host SEC opponents Texas, LSU, Arkansas, Missouri and Kentucky.

October 27: at Texas A&M – Bryan-College Station, Texas

The Dawgs will be looking to secure a spot in the SEC Tournament for the third straight season where Pensacola, Fla., will host the tournament Nov. 3-10.
