After being represented for years by an importer Spain And PortugalPorsche officially launched its subsidiary Porsche España in 1984, today called Porsche Ibérica. To celebrate the division’s 40th anniversary, Porsche launched the new 911 Carrera GTS Cuarenta Edition, which has a super special look inspired by the Iberian Peninsula.

Alexander Fabig, vice president of individualization and classics, says the Cuarenta edition was designed as if it “would have been commissioned by a Spanish or Portuguese client 40 years ago and it is still fashionable and desirable today.” The Sonderwunsch Team They worked closely with their colleagues in Spain and Portugal to learn about Iberian culture and bring that inspiration to the car, and the result is one of the coolest modern 911s.

It starts on the outside with Quercusverde paint, a newly developed shade inspired by the hue of holm oak leaves, a type of tree found throughout Spain and Portugal, also known as Holm oakThe non-metallic colour is highlighted by Satin Black stone guards on the rear fenders, silver and aluminium exterior trim and Satin Black cross-spoke wheels with a Brilliant Silver rim in a nod to the wheels of the 80s. Porsche created a special badge for the Cuarenta that features an illustration of a Quercus tree; hand-painted in Cremewhite, it is mounted on the rear grille, and the B-pillars also have slim badges in the same colour that bear the model name.

The Cuarenta’s interior is where things get really fun. A two-tone color combination of Truffle Brown and Cohiba Brown is used throughout, with the darker Truffle color used on the top of the dashboard and door panels as well as the carpet and other lower parts. Porsche says the browns are reminiscent of the work of the guarnicioneros, the artisan saddlers of the Iberian Peninsula. The seat centers have incredible tartan inserts that use Cohiba Brown, Crayon (light gray), Truffle Brown, and a green similar to the Quercusverde paint.

The tartan is accented by Crayon piping on the seats and handmade Crayon cross-stitching on the dashboard and door panels. The seat belts are also finished in Crayon. Cuarenta lettering is embossed on the headrests and “Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur” is debossed on the centre console. Other special details include aluminium door sills with the Cuarenta name illuminated in cream white, door lights with the Quercus tree logo, a colour-coordinated key with the model name and a matching leather key pouch with the tree logo. Customers will also receive a personalised indoor car cover in Quercusverde with cream white logos and lettering.

Porsche does not specify how many examples of the 911 Cuarenta Edition will be built, only that it will be offered to “a small group” of customers in the Iberian Peninsula. Porsche Ibérica will keep one of the examples for preservation and display.
