Hundreds Gather to Discuss Fish Kills in Ogeechee River

Hundreds of concerned citizens gathered Sunday to discuss the recent fish kill in the Ogeechee River. The crowd gathered at Dasher’s Landing near Blitchton to hear from lawmakers and discuss the river’s pollution. The meeting came two days after a ban on eating fish caught in the Ogeechee River was lifted, a week after a ban on swimming in the river was lifted and two weeks after a massive fish kill left thousands of dead fish on the banks of south Georgia’s Blackwater River.
