‘Those who spread false stories are silent…’: PM Modi targets MVA at Mumbai event

After the Lok Sabha election results, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Maharashtra for the first time, specifically Mumbai. He inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of the ambitious Goregaon-Mulund Link Road project, which includes two tunnels under the Sanjay Gandhi National Park. The event was held at the NESCO Exhibition Centre in Goregaon, where projects worth Rs 30,000 crore were launched and inaugurated by Modi.

In his speech, Prime Minister Modi provided details of the ongoing projects of the central and Maharashtra governments and criticised the “false narratives” of the Aghadi Mahavikas. He also saluted the Warkaris of Pandharpur, saying, “I bow to Vitthal of Pandharpur.”

Beginning his speech with a warm greeting, Modi said, “I extend my greetings to all my brothers and sisters of Maharashtra. Today, I had the opportunity to lay the foundation stones and inaugurate projects worth Rs 30,000 crore in Mumbai. These projects will significantly improve connectivity in and around Mumbai. Along with these road and rail projects, there is a skill development programme for the youth of Maharashtra, which will create many employment opportunities. A few weeks ago, the central government also approved the Vadhavan Port project, which is expected to generate 1 million jobs with an investment of Rs 76,000 crore.”

Targeting the Mahavikas Aghadi:

Modi targeted the Mahavikas Aghadi, saying, “The Maharashtra government under Mahayuti is doing a great job. I am happy that they have committed to provide vocational training to 1 crore youth every year. Scholarships will be provided during this training, which is essential for skill development. In the last four to five years, despite the COVID-19 crisis, India has witnessed record job creation. As per RBI reports, 80 crore new jobs have been created in the country. These numbers silence those who are spreading false narratives. The opposition is against the country and its development, but people are rejecting it. Infrastructure development is picking up pace and so are employment opportunities. Increasing investments in the future will further enhance these opportunities.”

On the development of pilgrimage sites:

Modi highlighted the NDA government’s efforts to develop pilgrimage sites, saying, “The government is ensuring smooth travel from Pune to Pandharpur for Warkaris. Work on Sant Dnyaneshwar Road and Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi Marg Road is progressing and these roads will be opened for Warkaris soon.” Modi extended his heartfelt wishes to all Warkaris in Marathi, saying, “I extend my heartfelt wishes to all Warkaris and bow to Vitthal of Pandharpur.”
