Katy Perry Reveals Shocking Way She Signed Divorce Papers After Split From Russell Brand

Katy Perry signed her divorce papers with a smile, literally.

The pop singer, who just released her latest single ‘Woman’s World’, revealed online that she kept her iconic smiley face and heart in her autograph even when she signed her divorce papers from ex Russell Brand.

“I always had a heart in my signature and a smiley face. Even when I was depressed, I always signed it with a smiley face,” she said in a clip from a live stream that has since been reposted by fans.

“I signed my divorce papers with a smiley face and a heart and that’s just because that’s my signature,” she continued in the video, during which she signed copies of her upcoming album “143.” “Not really for anything else.”

In the comments on TikTok, Perry’s fans praised the “Teenage Dream” singer.

“I can do it with a broken heart,” joked one user, quoting Taylor Swift’s hit of the same name.

“She finally got her smile back,” said another.

Perry, 39, married Brand, 49, in 2010, but the couple divorced in 2012.

In an interview with Vogue the following year, the pop singer revealed that the British actor had informed her he was filing for divorce via text message.

“Let’s just say I haven’t heard from him since he texted me saying he was divorcing me on December 31, 2011,” Perry said at the time.

The same interview resurfaced last year, when several women came forward and accused Brand of sexual assault. In 2013, Perry said she had “discovered the truth” but couldn’t reveal it and chose to “keep it locked in my safe for a rainy day.”

Perry then met actor Orlando Bloom, 47, in 2016 at a Golden Globes after-party, and bonded over burgers. Despite briefly splitting the following year, the couple rekindled their relationship, getting engaged in 2019 and welcoming daughter Daisy Dove Bloom in 2020.
