Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding was a joyous occasion, but it left the Queen’s granddaughter Zara Tindall feeling uneasy.

The couple married at St George’s Chapel in Windsor on May 19, 2018, surrounded by hundreds of family and friends, while smiling at millions of viewers around the world.

The late Queen, Prince Philip, Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla, as well as Prince William and Princess Kate, were all present at the celebration.

Zara Tindall attended the wedding with her husband Mike, her mother Princess Anne and her brother Peter Phillips. After the ceremony, Zara, who was pregnant with her second child at the time, revealed that her experience had been rather “uncomfortable”.

She told the Daily Telegraph that her baby was giving her a hard time during the ceremony and she admitted it showed on her face. Zara joked: “I was uncomfortable! My bum was sliding from side to side and Lena was kicking me for an hour. It was not comfortable at all and it probably showed on my face.”

The mother later admitted that Bishop Michael Curry’s 13-minute sermon seemed to test the guests’ patience. “It was just how long it was taking,” she said.

When Zara thought the bishop was wrapping up, he started another anecdote, much to the dismay of the guests, she admitted: “I think my face was probably caught in the moment where I was thinking, ‘Well, he’s going to finish now,’ and then he started another little story and it was like, ‘Really?’

Lena was born a month after the wedding, on June 18. Zara and Mike then welcomed their third child, a boy named Lucas, on March 21, 2021.
