Hollyoaks’ JJ finally gets caught in Frankie’s storyline

Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

Hollyoaks star Jessica Fox has revealed that JJ Osborne’s disturbing crimes will soon be revealed.

The Channel 4 soap explored the subject of sibling sexual abuse with the character JJ and his twin sister Frankie.

Viewers saw the story begin in March and there were major repercussions for the Osbornes as JJ’s abuse of Frankie remained hidden.

Jessica’s popular character Nancy Osborne was recently forced to leave the family home after being wrongly accused of pushing Frankie down the stairs. In reality, Frankie had fallen shortly after being attacked by her brother.

Talk to Digital Spy Speaking on the Radio Times Soap Awards red carpet on Saturday night (July 13), Jessica explained: “We’ve obviously got the big JJ and Frankie storyline happening, which is very impactful.

“It’s a really strong storyline. I think it’s one of the most powerful stories ever done in a soap. Isabelle (Smith, who plays Frankie) and Ryan (Mulvey, who plays JJ) have both been huge hits – what a breakthrough for Hollyoaks.

“So we’ll have a revelation about that soon – and then the fallout.

“In some ways it’s more interesting because how do you, as a family, deal with that and react and move forward in some way? So that’s a question that’s going to come up.”

When asked if Frankie will get the support she needs from the Osbornes, Jessica said: “I think each member of the family will have their own reaction and their own way of dealing with the situation.”

Digital Spy understands that JJ’s crimes will be revealed in the coming weeks, as show bosses were keen to resolve the story before the fall time jump.

Hollyoaks will move its storylines forward 12 months in September, partly to explain the major casting changes that will take place when the show cuts from five to three episodes per week.

The Radio Times Soap Awards took place at the Midland Hotel in Manchester on Saturday night. Hollyoaks took home two awards, with Iz Hesketh (Kitty Draper) winning Best Newcomer and Mercedes McQueen’s twins, who have different fathers, taking home the award for Best Twist.

Hollyoaks oaks first released online via Channel 4 every weekday at 7:30pm. Episodes then air on E4 the following day, before premiering on YouTube a week later.

Selected omnibus episodes are available via Prime Video.
