Greene County man charged with two counts of first-degree murder after killing parents

One man has been arrested for allegedly killing both of his parents in Greene County, Tennessee, on Friday.

News 5’s Liam Bridgeman visited the Greene County Sheriff’s Office to learn more about the investigation.

Just before 5 p.m. Friday, the Greene County Sheriff’s Department said deputies arrived at the home on Hartman Lane to find 68-year-old Cassandra Wilhoit and 60-year-old Ray “Allen” Wilhoit deceased.

Their son, 35-year-old Jessie Wilhoit, was taken into custody without incident.

After speaking with the Public Prosecution Service, Jessie Wilhoit has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder.

His bond was set at $2,000,000.

He will also appear in a Greene County courtroom on October 28 for his arraignment.

News 5’s Liam Bridgeman spoke with neighbors who said everyone involved in the case, including the Greene County Sheriff’s Office and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, left around 3:20 p.m. Friday.

A neighbor told News 5 that fights in the home were a common occurrence.
