Elder Scrolls fans heartbroken over silent cancellation

Personally, I enjoyed it Star field since launch, but I understand that many didn’t, instead feeling that it was a bit undercooked.

Well, that’s all starting to change.

Bethesda has rolled out a series of updates for Star fieldadding highly requested features including bounty hunting quests, customizable ship interiors, and city maps.

Adding drivable vehicles is underway, as is the launch of the Broken space story expansion that will delve into the mysterious House Va’ruun.

This is one of many story expansions planned for the game.

After the launch of the Creation Kit, we also saw many amazing fan-made projects surface.

A group of modders are creating a Star Wars inspired total conversion mod.

A similar project was in the works but focused on The Elder Scrolls, but what seemed too good to be true unfortunately turned out to be exactly that.

ICYMI: Check out the trailer for Broken space below.

Project Tamriel: A Creation Kit Project has been cancelled.

Announced by Reddit user New-Star-340, the mod was described as an “ambitious and revolutionary” endeavor that would attempt to recreate the entirety of Tamriel in Star fieldintegrating the game worlds of Skyrim, OblivionAnd Morrowind.

This would also have included the respective quests and items from those games.

When you consider how long it took Bethesda, an experienced studio, to create The Scrolls of the Ancients VI – which remains in full development – one might wonder how a group of fan modders could tackle a project like this.

Well, they won’t.

After trying to recruit volunteers, the modders eventually abandoned the project.

In an interview with VG247, New-Star-340 said, “After sharing the initial concept with the community, it became clear that the support we were hoping for simply wasn’t there. Many fans expressed their concerns and indicated that they weren’t interested in seeing this project come to fruition.”

“As a team, we were a small group of passionate modders who were excited about the possibilities. However, the feedback we received made us realize that the excitement we felt was not shared by the wider community,” they continued.

I’m not sure the lack of interest is entirely true. I think we’d all like to traverse a complete Tamriel. It’s just that the project didn’t seem all that plausible.

Given that Creation Kit is still new, I’m confident we’ll see more conversion mods done on a more manageable scale come to fruition.
