Disney Fans Shocked As Details About Unannounced Games Leak

Following hacker attacks on studios like Rockstar Games and Insomniac, it looks like entertainment giant Disney could be the next victim of a breach.

A hacking group known as NullBulge claims to have obtained more than a TB of confidential information from Disney.

Earlier this year, Disney and Epic Games announced a $1.5 billion Fortnite collaborationCredit: X@FortniteGame

The leak, which remains to be verified, is believed to contain messages and files obtained from the company’s Slack.

The self-proclaimed hacktivist group claims to have attacked Disney’s systems to “protect the rights of artists and ensure fair compensation for their work.”

The group claims the leak contains “nearly 10,000 channels, every possible message and file, unreleased projects, raw images, code, credentials, links to APIs/internal web pages, and more!”

The leaked files also allegedly contain personal information and login credentials of Disney employees.

It would also contain details about the company’s unannounced gaming projects.

Disney has yet to comment on the alleged attack, making the hackers’ claims less credible since an actual breach would have prompted a statement from the company.

A recent leak about the release window of Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 is believed to be based on the alleged data breach.

Details about Disney’s upcoming Fortnite collaborations are also expected soon according to reliable leakers like HypeX, citing the alleged hacker attack.

Disney previously announced it was working with Epic Games on an “open universe of gaming and entertainment connected to Fortnite.”

The project involved a $1.5 billion investment by Disney in Epic announced in February 2024.

If confirmed, the attack would be one of the biggest leaks in recent memory, after the Rockstar Games hack when the first images of GTA 6 were leaked in 2022.

Last year, one of PlayStation’s biggest studios, Insomniac Games, was also the target of a ransomware attack that revealed details about upcoming games.
