Fog hits Auckland airport, flights delayed and cancelled

Fog restrictions were put in place at Auckland Airport early Tuesday morning.

More than 30 flights were disrupted by these conditions.

In an update provided just before 10am, Auckland Airport said 17 regional flights and three mainline regional flights had been cancelled.

Ten regional flights were delayed, as well as four flights on major airlines.

International flights were not affected.

Travellers and those meeting passengers on flights have been advised to check the Auckland Airport website www.aucklandairport.co.nz or app for the latest information on flight arrivals and departures.

Auckland Transport said travellers could also expect delays on ferry services due to “extreme fog over the harbour”.

Waka Kotahi also issued a warning about driving conditions in the city.
