Kamala Harris to make campaign stop in Kalamazoo on Wednesday

KALAMAZOO, MI – Vice President Kamala Harris will make a campaign stop in the city of Kalamazoo on Wednesday, July 17.

This is the first Biden-Harris campaign event since the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday, July 13, communications director Alyssa Bradley said.

Following her speech, Harris will host a conversation with former Trump national security official Olivia Troye and Amanda Stratton, a Michigan mother and former Republican voter, who will share her personal reproductive health story.

The event will be open to the public, Bradley said, but details on time and location are not yet available.

As vice president, Harris will be accompanied by the Secret Service, Bradley said. Attendees will be subject to “airport-like” security checks, including bag searches, upon entry.

It’s typical of any presidential or vice presidential event, Bradley said.

This is Harris’ fourth trip to the key state in 2024, according to a press release, and her seventh since taking office.
