Reproductive Freedom for All California Announces Endorsements in State Assembly

Sacramento, California — Today, Reproductive Freedom for All California endorsed Maggy Krell (AD-6) and Chris Shoults (AD-63) for California State Assembly. Both candidates are running for the State Assembly for the first time and are critical to maintaining and expanding a pro-reproductive freedom majority in the chamber this cycle.

Elizabeth Schoetz, Campaigns and Advocacy Manager for Reproductive Freedom for Allissued the following statement:

“California is at the forefront of the fight for reproductive freedom, and the more advocates we have in the State Assembly, the more we can take action to proactively expand access to reproductive health care, including abortion. We are proud to endorse Maggy Krell and Chris Shoults this cycle to continue to proactively advance reproductive freedom and counter efforts to roll back progress. Our members are ready and mobilizing to ensure they are elected this November.”

This announcement builds on Reproductive Freedom for All California’s ongoing efforts to endorse and support candidates committed to protecting and advancing reproductive freedom.

Reproductive Freedom for All is already on the ground in states across the country as part of its largest-ever ballot initiative, working to ensure that reproductive freedom advocates are elected from state legislatures to the White House and that we protect and expand abortion rights and access through ballot measures. Our 2024 agenda provides voters with opportunities to make immediate, tangible changes to help build a future where everyone is free to make their own decisions about their bodies, lives, and families.

In November, following another resounding victory for abortion rights in elections across the country, Reproductive Freedom for All launched its Vote for Reproductive Freedom campaign. This digital and grassroots campaign will build on the momentum of major victories in Ohio, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Kentucky by encouraging voters to commit to voting for reproductive freedom advocates in 2024 as a first step in mobilizing the 8 in 10 Americans who support legal abortion.
