A GoFundMe has been set up for “Dancing Cowboy,” with details about the memorial and plaque dedication

A GoFundMe fundraiser has been set up in honor of Marques Morrison, known as “The Dancing Cowboy.” The fundraiser also shared details of a public celebration gathering and plaque dedication ceremony scheduled for August 2.

Morrison died on June 30, 2024 at the age of 47.

For more than 15 years, Morrison worked at Little Caesars dancing with a sign and advertising their pizza.

According to GoFundMe, the Morrison family has been in contact with Mayor Karen Goh, the city manager, Little Caesars Pizza and others to create a memorial triumvirate that will make Marques proud.

GoFundMe said there will be an intimate, private ceremony with the entire Morrison/Andrews family.

There will be a public celebration gathering at the corner of Stockdale Highway and California Avenue on August 2, 2024.

According to GoFundMe, a memorial plaque ceremony will be held the same day. The plaque will be embedded at the corner of Stockdale Highway and California Avenue.

GoFundMe said the official placement location is pending.
