New details emerge about family of Trump assassin Thomas Crooks, including his ‘hard-working’ older sister

Details are beginning to emerge about the family of Thomas Matthew Crooks, Trump’s would-be assassin, as federal investigators work to determine a clear motive for the attack that shocked the nation.

The Crooks family has so far remained quiet and out of public view. Neighbors who live on the same street as their modest three-bedroom home in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, have barely recognized them.

A neighbor of Katie Crooks, Thomas’ sister, described her as a “hardworking” woman who juggled two jobs and moved into their apartment building in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, with the help of her brother three years ago.

“The person who helped her, I couldn’t tell if it was a man or a woman,” the neighbor told the Post of his first reaction to Thomas, 20.

“A few days later I asked if it was one of her siblings and she said it was her brother. The one who shot Trump… He was really skinny,” he added.

The neighbor noted that Katie’s father, Matthew Brian Crooks, appeared to be too heavy to help her move and instead opted to drive the moving truck while Thomas helped his sister get settled.

Although he couldn’t say much about Thomas, the neighbor noted that Katie was a “real go-getter” who worked as a janitor at a local high school and as a waitress at a restaurant.

“She’s really nice,” he said. “She’s a nice girl. I couldn’t say a bad word about her.”

Like her brother, Katie is a registered Republican, her father being a registered Libertarian.

The older sister was reportedly seen getting out of her red Hyundai Kona on Monday night and carrying luggage to the Crooks’ family home in Bethel Park, according to footage from local and national media.

It was also recently revealed that Thomas graduated from the Community College of Allegheny County in May, majoring in engineering science, according to the school.

“Like all Americans, we are shocked and saddened by the horrific turn of events that took place in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday,” the college said in a statement.

“We are grateful that former President Trump is safe and recovering. We extend our condolences to Corey Comperatore’s family for their loss and offer our thoughts and prayers to all those affected by this tragedy.”

After graduation, the would-be Trump assassin was scheduled to enter Robert Morris University in the fall, university officials confirmed to The Post.

“Our thoughts are with former President Trump, the family of Mr. Corey Comperatore, and anyone physically or emotionally harmed by this tragic event,” university officials said.

“We oppose violence in all its forms and are committed to fostering a safe and supportive community for all.”

Law enforcement sources told the Post that investigators are still searching for clues as to why Crooks climbed onto a roof and opened fire on Trump with his father’s AR-style rifle.

A search of his phone on Monday failed to clearly establish a motive for the crime, the sources said.
