Jack McCaffery, four-star power forward, offered by UVA

Virginia has found a new target on the recruiting trail. 2025 four-star forward Jack McCaffery announced on social media Wednesday that he has received an offer from the Cavaliers.

“After great discussions with Coach Bennett and Coach Sanchez, I am happy to announce that I have received an offer from the University of Virginia!!,” McCaffery said in a message.

Jack McCaffery, a 6-foot-10 power forward who attends West Senior High School in Iowa City, is the son of Iowa head coach Fran McCaffery. A four-star prospect by many major recruiting services, McCaffery is ranked as the No. 92 overall prospect in the Class of 2025 by the 247Sports Composite, which also ranks him as the No. 22 power forward in the country and the highest-ranked player in the state of Iowa.

McCaffery currently has offers from Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, Butler, Utah, VCU, UTSA and now Virginia. Iowa is notably absent from that list, as McCaffery has publicly stated that he does not want to follow in the footsteps of his older brothers Connor and Patrick by playing for their father at Iowa.

McCaffery is a sharpshooter on the perimeter and has shown he can also play inside and out. He recently made nine three-pointers and scored 36 points in an AAU game.
