Woman Asks Millennial Boyfriend To Go Out More Often, But She’s Not Ready To Go Along With His Plan

A woman asked her partner to go out more often, but she didn’t expect this.

A TikTok video posted by Hannah (@hannahxwilkinson) has gone viral after she revealed the hilarious date her boyfriend had planned for them: a visit to the Ogretones, a Shrek tribute band whose Facebook page describes the group as the “first British musical tribute to the Shrek series.” Since Hannah’s video was posted on July 14, it has received over 1.1 million views and over 158,000 likes.

“I asked my boyfriend if we could have more date nights and tonight it was his turn,” Hannah captioned the video. “As far as surprise date nights go, this was one of the best.”

In the vlog, Hannah revealed the Shrek-themed drink served at the bar: the ‘ogre ball’ cocktail, which costs £8. She also said that many customers had dressed up as Shrek and other characters, which made her feel like she was underdressed.

Clips of the band have also revealed them in costume, portraying everyone from Shrek to the Three Blind Mice to Donkey.

“I always felt like Donkey would have naturally gravitated toward bass,” Hannah wrote of the bassist with Donkey’s ears.

As the band played their set, Hannah began to list her superlatives: “The Big Bad Wolf won best costume,” she wrote.

The night ended with Shrek’s anthem, “I’m a Believer” by Smash Mouth, the song played in the final scene of the first film.

People flooded the comments with wishes for their own Ogretones concert, with some even wishing the band would be there for the biggest day of their lives.

“I want them to sing at my wedding, whenever it is,” wrote @genevievetina.

“How does it feel to be living my dream?” posted @olbeluga.

“Everything in my life has led me to this TikTok where I now have to attend in person for a date,” commented @mcgeemcfee.

It was clear that Hannah’s boyfriend had heard the instructions and understood the mission, even if it was only for a small audience.

“Shrek is the true patron saint of millennials,” wrote @cece07757.

“I was so worried this video would show your boyfriend putting no effort in and it’s so amazing,” posted @marlonrandosextape.

“This is amazing work,” commented @beckyyyy_92. “Good luck with your date night.”

Hannah confirmed the absolute joy of the date: “Not gonna lie, one of the best nights I’ve ever had,” she wrote.
