Kyle Richards takes a major step in his journey to sobriety.

The “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star, 55, took to Instagram on July 18 to celebrate two years sober with a gym selfie and thoughtful caption.

‘Real Housewives’ Star Kyle Richards Celebrates One Year of Sobriety: ‘I Listened to My Heart’

“This week was July 15th, my two-year sober anniversary. I remember a time when the idea of going two weeks sober seemed impossible,” she wrote. “I’m proud of myself for having the willpower to stick with it.”

“I know a lot of people would love for me to start drinking again. Even friends with the best intentions,” the “Halloween” actress continued, noting that everyone loved “Party Kyle” when she was drinking.

She added: “I think that was the hardest part of it all. The resistance from other people. The old me, the people-pleaser, had a hard time with that part. And I realized right away that I wasn’t going to get a lot of encouragement.”

Richards said she’s “gone down enough and whipped enough ponytails to know when it’s time to stop” — joking that she still lets loose from time to time — but noted that she’s prioritized herself on this journey, saying “my mental and physical health has become much more important to me than feeling pressured to be ‘on point’ at a party or social event.”

“I’m not going to lie… the fact that I look better because I wasn’t drinking also encouraged me to stay on the path I was on,” the reality star continued. “But the real reward is how I feel inside. I feel strong, energized, and grateful for my body. I want to take care of it the way it took care of me. It would have been a lot harder to get through those tough times if I had been drinking.”

“I want to wake up every day feeling my best. Mentally and physically, I want to be strong enough to handle whatever comes my way,” she wrote.

Richards ended her post by saying she was grateful to strangers who told her she had inspired them to quit drinking, saying it “makes me happy and inspires me in return.”

One of Richards’ four daughters, Alexia, congratulated her mother with a message of support in the comments, writing, “Yes 🔥🔥🔥 I’m so proud of you my strong queen.”
