5 Things to Know This Week – July 22

Free arts and crafts activities for kids at Harambee Park

The Boston Parks and Recreation Department’s annual ParkARTS program is pleased to announce the return of free arts and crafts workshops for kids. From West Roxbury to East Boston, children ages three to ten can enjoy a wide variety of arts and crafts activities led by local artists during workshops that run from 10 a.m. to noon. This week, this fun, free event takes place on Tuesday, July 23 at Harambee Park.

Bringing farm produce to the neighborhood!

The Codman Square Farmers Market is back! Featuring fresh vegetables, fruits, meats, eggs and more, the Codman Square Farmers Market is a weekly event at Loesch Family Park on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. In addition to produce, there are other vendors like Cles Cuddly Creations, Bling + Beauty and Lisa Graustein Ceramics. Plus, there will be live music, family entertainment, kids’ activities and more! Stop by!

Pottery Painting: Pet Bowls at The Local Hand

Thursday we’re painting pet bowls! The Local Hand is hosting a special pottery painting event featuring pet bowls on Thursday from 6pm-7:30pm with Carmiclay. You can sign up here.
