Congressman Nick Langworthy Announces ,243 Federal Grant for Jamestown Airport

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Nick Langworthy (NY-23) announced that Chautauqua County will receive a $23,243 federal grant for the Jamestown Airport through the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) FY 2024 Airport Improvement Program (AIP). This grant will fund the acquisition of testing equipment based on aqueous film-forming foam (extinguishing agent) inputs.

“I have always been an advocate for the safety and preparedness of our airports, and this grant will provide the Jamestown Airport with the resources needed to enhance its emergency response capabilities,” said MP Langworthy. “The purchase of this testing equipment is important to helping our brave first responders, ensuring they have the tools they need to fight fires and keep passengers, crew and others safe.”

The Airport Improvement Program provides grants to public agencies for the planning and development of public airports included in the National Plan for Integrated Airport Systems (NPIAS). These funds are essential to the continued growth and safety of the aviation sector and to meet the evolving needs of the communities they serve.
