Woman dead, four children injured in Phoenix crash

PHOENIX (AZFamily) – A woman is dead and four children are in the hospital after a multi-vehicle crash at a major intersection in downtown Phoenix early Friday afternoon.

The collision occurred shortly before 1:30 p.m 19th Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road. Phoenix police say a woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition and a child also had serious injuries.

The woman died a short time later.

Three other children were taken to hospital as a precaution, according to police.

Five people, including four children, were seriously injured in an accident on Friday afternoon.

The intersection was closed for hours, but has now reopened.

Other information has not yet been released.
