Do you want to be free? Tim Tebow says Jesus’ sacrifice is the answer

Tim Tebow shared the gospel in a recent Instagram video, reminding viewers that Jesus’ sacrifice “set us free.”

Him first read Romans 8:1 – “There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.”

“Boys, in Christ Jesus we have been set free so that now there is no condemnation,” Tebow said explained. “The Creator of this universe, Heavenly Father, is a righteous judge, but He is also a loving Father who knew that sin must be paid for. My sin had to be paid for. And so He sent His son Jesus to this earth to live a life I could not live, and He chose to die a death I deserve to die.”

He continued, “That punishment was placed on Jesus, that condemnation was placed on Him, the guilty verdict was placed on Him, so that if we believe in Him, we would be set free. Because His scars set me free. That punishment is now the reason why we do not need to condemn, because it was placed on Jesus, our King, our Savior, our ransom. So we don’t have to live in condemnation. We can live liberated thanks to what Jesus has done for us.”

Tebow often shares messages of faith on social media. In a recent post, he challenged his followers to “choose courage.”

“In John 16:33, Jesus challenges us to be courageous,” he says subtitled his post. “Why? Because life is hard. Jesus gets it! Today we take courage in our work, our relationships, and our callings because He courageously embraced death for us and lived to tell about it. Because of His courageous death and resurrection we can now live courageously for Him.”

Tebow’s faith drives his mission to end human trafficking, something he fights through the Tim Tebow Foundation.

“We must do everything we can to protect them,” he says said of victims of human trafficking. “To lift them out of this terrible evil and put them in a position where they can flourish, knowing their worth and experiencing the faith, hope and love that so many so desperately deserve.”

He recently launched a campaign, UnKNOWN and UnFINISHED, aimed at saving children who are being trafficked.

“We’re calling it Unknown and Unfinished because we need to reach as many of these guys and girls as possible,” Tebow explained. “And when we look at the scale so people can understand… in the last 12 months there have been more than 500,000 unique IP addresses that have downloaded or shared images or videos of children under the age of 12 being abused.”
