Lacy Lakeview police arrest two attempting to steal ATMs from a gas station, claims report

LACY LAKEVIEW, TX (KWTX) Lacy Lakeview police officers arrested two people on Nov. 11 after they tried to steal an ATM from a 7-Eleven gas station, a police report alleges.

Tadarius Patton, 24, and Cameron Bryant, 29, were both charged with engaging in organized criminal activity, theft of property less than $300,000, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, criminal mischief, criminal mischief causing damage to ATMs and evading charges .

According to the police report, officers received a call around 6 a.m. about an ATM theft in progress at the 7-Eleven gas station on IH-35 Frontage Rd.

When officers arrived on scene, they saw three people trying to drag the store’s ATM with a rope through a window, the police report said.

According to the report, two of the suspects attempted to flee in a vehicle until they were stopped in the parking lot of a Towneplace Suites hotel, while the other suspect attempted to flee on foot.

The suspect who fled on foot and one of the suspects who tried to flee in the vehicle were arrested, police said.

The whereabouts of the third suspect are currently unknown.

“Excellent work by the responding officers in apprehending these individuals,” Lacy Lakeview police wrote. “Additional investigation will follow to determine the identities of all parties involved.”

Patton and Bryant are currently being held in the McLennan County Jail. Their bond amounts have not yet been reported.
