EastEnders fans are convinced the soap predicted the future in scenes about Lily’s baby

EASTENDERS fans have joked that the soap predicted a “kids’ summer” a year before it became a trend.

In scenes set in 2023, young teenager Lily Slater gave birth to a baby girl, when she herself was only 13 years old.

Viewers were surprised by the unusual name she gave her child.

The baby was named Charli after British pop singer Charli XCX.

The star gained international recognition this summer thanks to her sixth album, titled Brat.

Along with music came a trend of spending the summer indulging in hedonism and embracing chaos.

As the concept of “brat summer” took off, Charli described a brat as: “That girl who goes to a rave and wears a tank top.

“You can see her nipples through it and she’s sweaty but she’s hot and she’s dancing with her friends.

“I just put all these pieces of the puzzle together and it allowed me to write more songs under the guise of knowing what this girl wants and that girl is me.”

EastEnders viewers think the show predicted the future when Lily threw Charli a gender reveal party and served guests a bright green cake.

The color has become a symbol of “kids’ summer” and was featured prominently on Charli XCX’s album cover.

One soap opera fan wrote to X: “The gender reveal cake is BRAT green and then they name the baby Charli…”

One shocked viewer replied: “Oh my God, EastEnders predicted a summer of brats?”

Another added: “Writers can see the future I fear.”

A third pointed out: “And this was BEFORE the kid too.”
