I Walked Into a Gas Station With an Idea. Walked Out With a 7-Figure Business

You’ve heard of Buc-ee’s, right? The 120-pump gas station the size of Texas that has a cult following?

In 2020, I walked into Buc-ee’s, spent $3,000, and walked away with an unofficial “partnership” to sell all of their products online.

It’s time to tell a story.

Buc-ee’s is a Costco-sized spectacle to see:

Spotless bathrooms Each store does $20 million++/year Cult, loyal customer base (think Disney) Iconic beaver mascot clothing NO ONLINE SALES!

Wait, what? Yeah, I was shocked too. Their site gets millions of hits and you can’t buy anything! I decided to change that in 2020 when I contacted Buc-ee’s with a pitch:

“Let us open your store and ship your stuff.”

Crickets.

So I did it myself. I took my whole family to Buc-ee’s and bought one of each product for about $3,000. The cashiers were shocked. It took hours, but it was worth it.

I brought everything to our warehouse and hired someone to take some nice pictures.

We put it on a Shopify site and called it Beaver Snax.

My launch strategy? Tell all the reporters. It worked! Buc-ee’s lawyer called me immediately.

“We really like what you’re doing. We don’t want to touch eCom, but let’s do it. But change the name. No beavers.”

No problem! I said. We hadn’t even taken off yet.

Texas Snax was born. Apparently everyone wrote about us. A viral success!

We did 6 figures in sales the first month without spending any advertising, and we’ve been growing ever since. Every time there’s a new store, we grow. Rising tides and all that. I can’t take credit for running it so masterfully, my business partner Kirk does. I’m the guy who’s 0-1.
