Football coach Jasper announces that he is stepping down after a career spanning decades

JASPER, Ind. (WFIE) – There are a lot of great games coming up this week, we’ll talk about them as we go along, but there’s big news today for a team whose season came to an end earlier in the sectional round here in Indiana, the Jasper Wildcats.

On Monday, Head Coach Tony Lewis announced that he is stepping down and hanging up the coaching football whistle.

A 34-year career coaching high school football, Tony Lewis spent time at Tri-State in Henderson County, Reitz and then concluded with a six-year stint at Jasper.

But after 34 years of putting football first, he decided it was time to focus on the people around him.

Congratulations to Coach Lewis on his career with the Wildcats and in the Tri-State!
