Uninsured driver arrested after testing positive for cocaine and cannabis when caught speeding

Police in Longford arrested a driver after he was caught speeding and tested positive for cocaine and cannabis.

Shortly after midday on Tuesday 8 October, Longford Police officers were responding to reports of a car being driven dangerously on the N5 when they detected another vehicle traveling in excess of 180km/h in a 100km/h zone. h.

When stopped by police, the driver failed a roadside drug test and tested positive for cocaine and cannabis. It was also discovered that the driver did not have insurance.

The driver was arrested and charged. The car was also seized by the police.
