Christian Clerc, a recognized hospitality executive with more than 30 years of experience in operations and management of some of the world’s most prestigious luxury hotel brands, has been named the new President and CEO of Auberge Resorts Collection. He will succeed Craig Reid, who is retiring after a decade of leadership. Clerc’s new role will begin September 1, 2024, and he will be based out of Auberge’s Bethesda, Maryland, offices.

Clerc previously served as Global President of Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts from 2016 to 2022, where he was responsible for overseeing the company’s hotel and residential operations worldwide. His leadership spanned 127 hotels, 51 residential properties, more than 50 projects under development and a workforce of 50,000 employees in 47 countries. During his tenure, Clerc focused on enhancing the company’s culture, ensuring product excellence and driving global expansion, while introducing new business ventures as part of the company’s strategic growth.

“Christian is a dynamic and admired leader in the hospitality industry. His proven approach to luxury guest experiences aligns perfectly with our vision for Auberge as we continue to grow our highly sought-after brand,” said Dan Friedkin, Chairman and CEO of The Friedkin Group and President of Auberge Resorts Collection. “He has a unique perspective on what a luxury hospitality brand should be and deep expertise in delivering personalized experiences in unique properties that exceed the expectations of the world’s most discerning travelers.”

Prior to his global role at Four Seasons, Clerc served as President of EMEA from 2014 to 2016, managing operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. His early career included leadership of the landmark George V Hotel in Paris, overseeing the Southern Europe region, as well as various general manager and regional vice president roles in the Americas. After leaving Four Seasons in 2022, Clerc pursued a range of projects, including serving as a board member of Artemis RE Partners, as Chairman of the Board of Directors of duPont Registry Group and providing consulting services on global luxury development initiatives.

“I am delighted to join the Auberge team” said Clerc. “It is an honour for me to help build on the Auberge’s well-deserved reputation for creating unique and authentic experiences. I look forward to working closely with our talented team and strategic partners to continue pursuing this vision of building the leading brand in luxury hospitality.”
