Man charged after assault and theft at a shop in Cambuslang

A man has been charged following an assault and robbery at a shop in Cambuslang.

Officers responded to the store on Glebe Place around 5.10pm on Monday after receiving reports of a disturbance.

Emergency services arrived on the scene and police closed surrounding roads and urged people to avoid the area.

The roads were reopened four hours later.

A 46-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident.

After further investigation, the man was also arrested and charged with a robbery at the same store on November 9.

Police confirmed that a 46-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

The man is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Tuesday.

A report will be sent to the Attorney General of the budget.
