A fatal accident involving a semi-truck has closed the highway in the Summerville area

CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) – The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office is warning motorists of a road closure after at least one person was killed in a crash involving a semi-truck.

Highway 78 near Poplar Grove Place in Summerville is completely closed due to a two-car crash between the semi-truck and another car.

Drivers should find alternate routes for the morning commute as emergency services remain on scene, officials said.
