Cyclist, 13, seriously injured in crash with Hanley

A 13-year-old boy is in a critical condition after a crash in Stoke-on-Trent.

Emergency services were called to the incident, involving a silver Renault Clio and a bicycle, just after 6pm GMT on Monday outside Screwfix on Leek Road in Hanley.

Staffordshire Police said the teenager was taken to Birmingham Children’s Hospital with head and leg injuries.

Police appealed for witnesses and anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage to contact them.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said bystanders were tending to the boy when paramedics arrived.

“Upon investigation, the boy was found with serious injuries and the team provided him with rapid trauma care to stabilize his condition,” a spokesperson added.
