Hot Ones fans baffled by announcement of strange guest on hit YouTube series

Fans of the hit YouTube series The hottestI was stunned by the announcement of the talk show’s next guest… cartoon waterfowl Donald Duck.

The series, produced for First We Feast, sees host Sean Evans interview a high-profile celebrity as the pair consume increasingly spicy chicken wings.

Recent guests on the show include Sabrina Carpenter, Ariana Grande, Vince Vaughn, Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino, Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman and Will Smith.

In a post shared on social media, the series revealed that its next guest will be none other than Donald Duck, the animated character known for appearing in Disney’s Mickey Mouse universe.

A video shared on X/Twitter shows the fully animated duck sitting in the famous Hot Ones studio.

“Hello, I’m Donald Duck,” he said. “As if you didn’t know. And I’m the guest of The hottest this week.”

“They are so lucky to have me,” he adds.

Fans of the show reacted with bewildered enthusiasm to the announcement, with some expressing confusion over the logistics of the interview.

“I now question the ethics of an animated anthropomorphic duck eating poultry,” one person commented.

“I hope this is some kind of Roger Rabbit that mixes live action and animation,” wrote another, referring to the 1988 hit film. Who Framed Roger Rabbit?which mixed live-action sequences with animation. “We need to bring all that back.”

“There’s something wrong with Donald Duck eating chicken wings… something perverse,” someone else joked.

Others, meanwhile, suggested that the series should have instead featured an interview with one of the puppets from the hit Muppets franchise.

Earlier this year, an appearance on The hottest by comedian and talk show host Conan O’Brien was hailed by viewers as the “best” episode of all time.

The episode saw the former The Simpsons The writer engages in a number of prepared comedic “bits,” including several interactions with a man introduced as his personal physician, “Dr. Arroyo.”

At the end of the episode, O’Brien was seen drinking hot sauce straight from the bottle, with the sauce covering his face and chin.
