A Victorian train station has been transformed into a home and partial hotel — and it’s officially on the property market.

Lisa and Steve Rawlings bought the former Coalport station in 2002 to get out of the city and into a space that wasn’t in the middle of all the hustle and bustle.

Steve Rawlings told SWNS the property had no trains or railway lines at the time and was overgrown with weeds and shrubs.

“This place was the perfect escape. The property was enchanting from the beginning, and over time we had a clear vision of what we wanted to do with it,” he said.

Today, the property, dating from 1863, includes two railway carriages that the couple says operate as a hotel in Shropshire, England.

Over the years, Steve Rawlings said tourists have embraced the concept. He even said one group of clients has stayed there 15 times.

“We estimate we have had close to 2,000 bookings over the years,” he said.

He and his wife are selling the property, he added, because of her health problems.

“We are only selling because of Lisa’s health, and we need somewhere to put elevators or maybe a bungalow,” he told SWNS, referring to his wife.

Although sad to leave this unique place, Rawlings said he and his wife will stay in the area because the town has an “old-fashioned way of life, something we cherish.”

The historic location is close to Ironbridge Gorge and the Shropshire Hills, two notable tourist attractions in the area.

The main house has three bedrooms and three reception rooms, according to SWNS, as well as a waiting room which is currently used as an office.

The two Great Western Mark 1 carriages date from the 1960s and are accessed via the original station platforms in front of the main house.

One car has three bedrooms with two bathrooms and a living room and kitchen area, while the other offers two bedrooms and two bathrooms, also with a fully equipped kitchen, as reported by SWNS.
