Ohio State vs. Oregon football scoring predictions: Can the Buckeyes beat the Ducks?

I have questions about Oregon. I can’t say the same about Ohio State’s entry into this matchup.

The Buckeyes dominated everyone they faced, and the “They didn’t play anyone” argument seems irrelevant. Ohio State entered 2024 with a loaded roster, and all the results so far suggest that is still the case.

Oregon also has a talented roster, and the Ducks have played a relatively easy schedule. Dan Lanning’s team doesn’t look as convincing as Ryan Day’s in the process. This will be a close game through three quarters, but Ohio State will pull away in the final game.

This is the moment when 2024 Ohio State announces itself to the college football world.

I look at the matchups and I always come out slightly or significantly favoring Ohio State. And one big area that I think manifests itself is on the ground. If the Buckeyes run the ball well, which I think they will, Oregon will have a hard time defending every weapon offensively for Ohio State.

Oregon is one of the best teams in the country. They are incredibly talented and have a lot going on in Eugene. But Saturday won’t be that moment for them as Ohio State cruises to a two-touchdown victory.
