American indie publisher Mad Cave Studios announces new manga imprint Nakama Press – News

The first titles are expected to launch in summer 2025


US-based independent comic book publisher Mad Cave Studios announced Monday the launch of the Nakama Press imprint, which will be “dedicated to publishing a range of manga, Manhwamanfra and manhua from all over the world.

The company said of the new label that it is “determined to become a cultural bridge between East and West,” and that the label will be “a blend of independent stories and partnerships with renowned studios like Tatsunoko ProductionRainbow Group, and more.”

The new label will feature a mix of original and licensed content. The publisher will announce Nakama Press’s lineup at a later date. The first titles are expected to launch in summer 2025.

Mad Cave Studios was founded in 2014 and its other brands include Maverick, Papercutz and Amazing Comics.

The publisher will host a panel “Manga-Inspired Graphic Novels with Mad Cave” at Anime in New York on Saturday. The company will also be involved in the “Gatchaman: From Anime to New Adventures” panel on Friday.

The publisher has already partnered with Tatsunoko Production on a series of Gatchaman comics.
