From Tragedy to Triumph: Nitesh Kumar’s Inspiring Journey to Paralympic Glory

Once confined to a bed following a tragic train accident, Nitesh Kumar is now on the cusp of Paralympic glory. At 15, the life-altering incident in Visakhapatnam left him unresponsive and bedridden.

During his time at IIT-Mandi, Nitesh discovered badminton, transforming it into his sanctuary and source of strength. Inspired by para-shuttler Pramod Bhagat and cricket star Virat Kohli, he began to rebuild his life and athletic career.

Making his debut at the 2016 Nationals in Faridabad, Nitesh’s determination led him to multiple awards, culminating in a gold medal at the 2020 Nationals. Currently eyeing Paralympic success, Nitesh remains focused on his final match, believing in his consistent performance and resilience.
