Joey Bosa could return with hip injury

Chargers defensive end Joey Bosa played just 14 snaps in Sunday’s win over the Panthers and could play even fewer against the Steelers this Sunday.

Bosa left the game on the Steelers’ first possession, returned for a snap on their second possession and then returned to the bench the third time Pittsburgh had the ball. The Chargers believe Bosa could return due to a hip injury.

That third drive was the Steelers’ best of the day. They drove 70 yards on 13 plays, and quarterback Justin Fields ran for a five-yard touchdown to tie the score at 7 early in the second quarter.

Fields hasn’t been able to lead the Steelers to a first down on their first two drives, but he’s completed 10 of 10 passes for 58 yards so far. Future passes may not go the way of receiver Van Jefferson. His return is uncertain because of an eye injury.
