CINCINNATI (ENQUIRER) – A reward is being offered for information leading to the recovery of a wooden sculpture of the Turpin High School mascot recently stolen from a class reunion, our partners at the Cincinnati Enquirer report.

The classes of 1994 from Turpin and Anderson high schools were holding their reunion at American Legion Post 744 in Linwood on Aug. 24 when the sculpture was taken, Anderson Township Trustee Josh Gerth wrote in a Facebook post Sunday.

Gerth said the sculpture, on loan from the high school’s athletic director, was among other Spartans memorabilia and was believed to have been stolen shortly after 11 p.m., when the meeting was held inside. The sculpture stands about 4 feet tall and weighs between 40 and 50 pounds.

“I was hoping someone was just making a joke or ‘holding this hostage’ but unfortunately now that a week has passed that doesn’t seem to be the case so I’m posting this in hopes that someone knows something or sees this somewhere,” Gerth wrote, adding that a police report has been filed.

Anyone with information regarding the location of the sculpture is asked to contact Gerth at 513-833-3010 or [email protected].
