Chipotle Launches Halloween Costumes with Spirit Halloween

Chipotle fans can dress up for Halloween thanks to a collaboration with Spirit Halloween.

The fast food chain and the Halloween store are joining forces and selling five different Chipotle-themed costumes.

Each outfit in the collection is a full-body bodysuit (also known as a morph suit) and represents a different element of the Chipotle dining experience. Spirit Halloween will sell $40 outfits inspired by the restaurant chain’s trademark black plastic forks, paper napkins, disposable water cups, foil-wrapped burritos and to-go bags.

The costumes are inspired by forks, napkins, cups, burrito wrappers and takeout bags.

Fork and napkin costumes have been featured on Chipotle’s social media channels for the past few years. Now, the costumes available at Spirit Halloween bring the parody into real life.

“We’re no strangers to memes at Spirit Halloween. Year after year, we’re blown away by the passion and creativity we see from fans who share their take on popular Spirit Halloween memes – and we’re beyond excited to team up with Chipotle to bring some of these creations to life,” Spirit Halloween’s Kym Sarkos said in a press release.

The onesies will be available online at Spirit Halloween starting September 6 and will come in sizes from adult S to XL. Select Spirit Halloween locations in Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, New York City and Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey will carry these food-inspired costumes in-store.

Chipotle felt the pressure earlier this year when customers complained that portion sizes were being reduced at the chain.

In May, rumors circulated on TikTok that users were recording workers preparing meals in the hopes that holding a phone would prompt employees to refill their bowls.

In a statement to PEOPLE at the time, Laurie Schalow, Chipotle’s director of corporate affairs and food safety, said that “there have been no changes to (the company’s) portion sizes.”

“Our intention is to deliver a great experience every time, and our meals have always been fully customizable so customers can voice or digitally select their desired portions as they choose from the list of real ingredients,” she said.
