Classified releases video, announces hiatus

Canadian rap star Classified has released a new self-directed music video for the track “I Don’t Wanna Lose.” Shot by Joel Jennox“I Don’t Wanna Lose” is the latest and final visual from Class’ Luc’s point of view album.

Along with the release of the new video, Class dropped a lengthy commentary on the release, explaining the inspiration for the song and also announcing that he plans to take a “a much-needed break from creating ‘classified’ songs,” while committing to producing for other artists and performing “here and there.” You can read the full message below:

I been doing this music thing for over 30 years now, consistently, always working on something, planning something, always having music on my mind. I went extra hard the last 12 months with this album to really put it all out there, dropping more content then I ever have before.

Today I wanna drop the last official video from my album Luke's View, then after my tour in Nov, (and a couple remix's), I wanna take my first real break in 30 years of making music ... i'll still produce for other people, do shows here and there, but i wanna take a much needed break from making "classified" songs, and always having a project on the go. . i feel like i've had a 2 year plan for the last 25 years,,, if that makes any sense ? ..

So here it is, the video for my song "I don't wanna lose", ,, I love what I do and have been blessed to be able to do this for my job for a long time, and working extra hard at it, having the support of my friends and family is the reason i got to where I am.

i never been the cocky type, but sometimes you gotta step back,,look at your life, where you came from, where you been, who you touched and what you did, and accept those accolades,,,

and guess what.. .sometimes the good guy wins,,, thank you to every fan who supported me, and in turn my family, my kids and my dreams.

thank you. .

“I Don’t Wanna Lose” follows Class’s videos for “Slippin,” “Dad Jokes,” and “Make It Make Sense,” all released in recent months.
