A Bengaluru woman was slapped by a motorist after she cancelled a ride booked through Ola. The incident happened in broad daylight and was caught on camera, sparking outrage on social media. The driver, identified as R Muthuraj, was arrested by the Bengaluru Police after the video went viral. A heated argument over the cancellation of a trip

The woman had initially booked a car through Ola but cancelled the ride and opted for another car when her friend’s car arrived first. The driver of the cancelled ride followed her, furious over the cancellation. The situation quickly escalated and a violent argument broke out. The video of the altercation shows the woman repeatedly asking the driver, “Aap chilla kyu rahe ho?” (Why are you shouting?), to which the driver angrily replies, “Galti se kaise hota hai?” (How is this wrong?). The driver again questions her about the cancellation, asking, “Tera baap deta hain kya gas ke paise?” (Is your father paying for the petrol?).

Another added, “Strict action should be taken against this person. How can he behave like this?”

A woman’s account of the incident

The woman shared her side of the story on social media, explaining that she and her friend had initially booked two cars due to rush hour. When her car arrived first, her friend cancelled the second booking, angering the driver of the cancelled ride. Despite explaining the situation to the driver, he became increasingly aggressive and began insulting the women.

The woman also alleged that the driver threatened further violence, saying he would hit her with his slippers. She demanded immediate action from Ola and the Bengaluru Police.
